President Barack Obama declares September 29, 2012 as National Public Lands Day
President Barack Obama signed a proclamation declaring this Saturday, September 29 as National Public Lands Day. In the proclamation, President Obama states, “Cities and communities across our country will join together to restore the lands and waters we share, and families nationwide will explore the natural splendor that stretches from our Atlantic shores to the Pacific’s rocky coasts.”
This is the fourth year in a row that National Public Lands Day has received a Presidential Proclamation.

I just bought Obama tube socks.   No shame.  I don’t have to worry about whether or not they will fit me around election time AND warm feet.  It’s a win all around.

Angrier by the second.

In spite of the headline, this is not actually a story of a Romney/RNC campaign bus harassing President Obama. This is a story of a Romney/RNC campaign bus harassing citizens. No one should be subjected to this behavior, but I imagine that small children who were there or any people with PTSD (like, say, veterans?) were particularly harmed by this garbage behavior. Not to mention the harm inflicted on “little” things like the practice of democracy and human decency.

Fucking classy.

Wow.  So mature, and like nanner says, really fucking classy.

Is it possible more would get done if there were more women in Congress? That is almost guaranteed. — President Barack Obama, 4/6/12 (via think-progress)

I mean, has anybody been watching the debates lately? You’ve got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change. It’s true. You’ve got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don’t have healthcare. And booing a service member in Iraq because they’re gay. That’s not reflective of who we are. — Barack Obama, Sunday at a Democratic fundraiser. (h/t Joe.My.God.)
We can’t afford these special lower rates for the wealthy — rates, by the way, that were meant to be temporary. We can’t afford them when we’re running these big deficits.

President BARACK OBAMA, introducing his $4.5 trillion debt reduction plan — which will partly depend on eliminating Bush-era tax cuts.

Note to the wealthy: don’t worry.  Even after you help save our country, you’ll still be filthy fucking rich.
